What is a ReStore?

Fox Valley Habitat ReStore Aurora
Shop, Donate, Volunteer

If you’ve been to more than one Habitat ReStore, you’ve probably noticed that each store has different layouts and stock different items. This individuality is what makes each ReStore unique. Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. ReStores accept and sell donations of new and gently used furniture, home décor, building materials, appliances and other home improvement items to the public at a fraction of the retail price.

Shopping at a ReStore not only supports your community, but also supports building affordable housing. ReStore Aurora, located on the west side of Aurora, is owned and operated by the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Montgomery. The proceeds from ReStore Aurora sales go directly to support Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission to make sure everyone has a decent place to live.

Why should you shop at ReStore Aurora? There are many great reasons to shop at Fox Valley Habitat ReStore Aurora! The store changes from day to day and you never know what you’re going to find. Since most of the items are donated from people and companies in your community, the selection varies depending on what has been donated and because of that ever-changing selection, you’ll see different inventory every time you shop. When items are donated to our ReStore, they get a chance at a second life rather than being taken to a landfill.  It’s a great place to scout out that unique vintage or retro piece of furniture for your next DIY adventure or home improvement project and save big on furniture, appliances, renovation materials, flooring, lighting, cabinetry, kitchen and bath fixtures, and much more!

Habitat ReStores are more than just resale stores. When you support your local ReStore by shopping, donating or volunteering, you are not only supporting your local community, you’re also helping the mission to provide decent shelter to everyone around the world. We are excited to be a part of this amazing community and furthering our mission.

Visit our Volunteer page to find out more about volunteering with us at our ReStore. We look forward to working with you!
